Sword and Shield is the new era of the TCG were released in Japan in December 2019 as dual sets, S1W and S1H, with 60 + 15 Secret cards each. They introduce Generation VIII Pokémon of the Galar region as well as the two Legendary Zacian and Zamacenta. It also welcomes the new V and VMAX cards instead of the previous EX or GX ones. There are also other changes such as the Fairy cards are retired, is now described as a Psychic-type, and the Poison Pokémon are now represented by the Darkness type instead of Psychic.
